Party People Do's and Don'ts

Try to befriend people around you.

Meet new people, its an opportunity to add friends.

If there are people you don't like, just smile to them and give basic courtesy.

Enjoy the party.

Avoid making it a gossip convention, avoid bad-mouthing especially your common friends.

Always thank the host.

Come prepared, if its a costume party or potluck or whatever detail is specified.

Holiday Hues and Blues

Holiday season is almost over.  After attending several parties and gatherings here is a compilation of several learning for next year.

Avoid, Christmas rush.  How many times have I heard this, I too don't learn :(   But, really there is so much benefit in preparing early you will avoid long queues, and heavy traffic.

Always have something ready to give, prepare extra gifts in kind or cash to spread more joy.  Everybody loves a gift.

When you see people you don't like, just smile to them.  It's ok not to engage in a chit-chat.

When people talk to you in a manner you don't like, again just smile.  Some would ask questions that are really personal or topics you don't like to talk about.

Send thank you greetings to people who gave you gifts or attended your party.

Do not over-eat or over-drink.  Everything should be in moderation

When shopping set a budget, so you don't over spend.

For catering services, have a written contract or menu of the food you pre-ordered, and "audit" it on the day.

Keep in mind that malls are packed during this season.
